Punches versus Time Cards
There are two ways to represent employees' time in BRIZBEE:
- Punches, which have an in and out timestamp on a given day, and
- Time Cards, which are a segment of hours and minutes for a given day.
Punches represent a segment of time where an employee “clocks” or “punches” in and out. A punch, once created with a punch in, will remain in until the employee punches out.
Sometimes, an employee does not need to record their start and end time for work, and only needs to record the total number of hours and minutes worked. This is where time cards are useful, because they do not require an in and out timestamp.
